Lost in the Woods

Unfortunately, one day, if I suddenly lost in the woods, I supposed to arouse my skills for the purpose of survival. First of all, I might try to call attention to anyone who was at the forests, whether a tourist or a hunter, they might be capable to direct me the right way. However, if I was unlucky, such as the character in '' Hatchet'', I had to depend on myself. Finding a shelter and enough food for survival are very significant, since they could support our basic needs. If there is a natural cave, at least, I could live in the cave and avoid cold. If I was unfortunate, I had to build a shelter with collecting branches, leaves, and grass by myself. Next, I had to find wild fruits with clean water ( or I would be sick) to satisfy appetite and complement energy. Furthermore, If I discover a river, I could go along with it; since most of the rivers would gather into an influx, even support a town. I might have a chance to discover a town that could phoning others. At night, if I was good at astronomy, I could follow the North star and infer my position, and then direct the way. On the other hand, if I lost in the desert, I couldn't even adapt the weather. It was pretty hot and dry in the morning, and it was really cold at night. There were only several animals and plants live at the desert, and it seldom rained at there! Moreover, I didn't sure that I'm too lucky to find the oasis. Anyhow, I wouldn't like to miss my way in the forest or even the desert.

Personal Assets

According to the story'' Hatchet '', for the sake of survival in the wilderness, Brian had used lots of personal assets. I think that the most important personal assets are self-reliance, problem solving, encouragement and courage. Brian had to be self-reliance in the story, since people didn't even know his position, for the sake of survival, he had to arouse his living skills. He fought against nature and tried to solve the problems within them, such as fighting against mosquitoes. Since he considered that how worrying his parents might be ( if they knew he got lost ), he decided to subsist independently. Thanks to his father and his friend, Terry, he got a hint about survival-- hatchet. Through a series of groping, he then discovered that sparkles could make a fire ( although it's because he couldn't control his emotions ). However, he had the bravery to survive independently in the wilderness. Furthermore, I think that the most significant is that he was lucky. He had good luck on survive through a plane crash, he had a good luck to discover how to make a fire, and he had a good luck on picking and collecting berries which a bear won't even hurt him. On the other hand, I don't think that I have any greatest assets. Anyhow, I think that the assets that I have are serene, hardworking ( because I'm not smart ), and helpful ( but often fails ). Moreover, I don't think that my assets could help me to survive in the wilderness, but serene might be the only possibility.

Solving Problems

Since I haven't confronted serious challenges in my life, I have broadened knowledge by solving problems. My Chinese language skills had made me chatted with friends in Taiwan easily, and causing me capable to read favorite novels daily. Furthermore, I could write letters to my friends in order to express my feelings. If I lost the ability to speak or write in Chinese, I would have to depend on my body gestures to communicate. It wouldn't be a really good idea since I am kind of a cowardly person, and it would cause a lot of troubles. Thanks to the everyday tests in local school, practicing my math hardly, so I could have basic skills. Having some basic math skills allowed me to count numbers, pay money, and bargain with the owners of stores. ( just kidding~ ) It also allowed me to measure regular and irregular objects and calculate a person's speed. I won't say that this skill is particular, because it is pretty general. My swimming skill protects me while I am supposed to swim at the sea. Although I didn't swim fast, at least, I had safeguard against drowning or spasm. While I'm swimming at the beach, I don't have to worry about too much, since I learned how to do CPR. Though I didn't have certainty, I could choose to call to the hospital :)

Long Life

Last week, my family had celebrated eighty-year-old birthday of my grandmother. Before sliced the first cake, my grandma made three wishes. One of them was the most important, and almost all of the elder people incline to hope, it was "longevity". Increasing our life span was general, and most of the people might wish to learn the Goddness in the moon, Chang-E, stole special medicine, and live happily forever. Since we tried very hard to achieve the goals in our lives, we didn't want to leave the world previously. According to the story '' The Secret", I don't think that people should declare the secret. Because there are already 6 billions of people on the Earth and it is overcrowded; there are even 1/6 of them are starveling right now. If all of the people migrate to the moon, it is even smaller and infertile than the Earth, it might cause pretty much problems. On the other hand, for the sake of longer living, people would persist in staying on the moon. If people on the moon reproduce the offspring, the moon supposed to be filled with people. Everywhere or anywhere, we might have to jump through the others' head and pass the way. Eventually, people can't endure this kind of thing happens everyday and started the World war III. However, if I have a chance to enter the moon, I would rather give up, since I don't want to leave my family and my friends far away, and I don't want to leave the world that I have seen such beautiful scenery. Furthermore, through Chinese poet,Chang yin, he wrote about that Chang-E must regretted to steal the specialmedicidine, because she had to stay at the moon forever without her husband accompanied.

The Secret

According to the story ''The Secret'', Dr. Hastings became suspicious since he discovered that a hamster can live more than 5 years on the moon, while hamsters normally can only live two years on the Earth. Compare and contrast between the difference, people and animals spend their whole lives fighting  gravity, and the hearts lift tons of blood through far away, so it wears down their muscles, pulling their stomachs out of shape. On the other hand, all the strain is reduced to a sixth here on the moon, it could increase the lifespan. Since there are 6 billion of people on Earth and it seems people had lacked of continents, Dr. Hastings wasn't willing to unveil his discovery. Furthermore, the moon is too small to migrate all of the people, and the people might rush to the fore when they discovered the news. In fact, people live on the Earth might dislike to living on the moon forever. It is because the Earth is not actually an overcrowded planet. Although living on the moon could cause people to live longer, but our organs might grow old, and we might walk with difficulty. I don't think that sitting on a wheelchair for the rest of our lives seems interesting. However, we couldn't stay with our families, friends, and pets on the moon; that's the most significant reason that I don't want to live on the moon.

Setting and plot

Setting plays a considerable role on plot, which causes a chain of events occur. Since the time and the place in the story are different, individual events occur during each setting. If a person lived at west America in 19 centuries, he might have a civil war which made most of people had to carry guns. When both of people had to fight, they might turned around and stamped forward 3 steps, and counted numbers-1, 2, 3; turned back and shot the enemy depends on their speed. It sounds pretty exciting just like a play, in fact, it's a play that people gamble their lives. Furthermore, people might subsist by bribe the government or being a spy for another country. It sounds people had already lost his or her patriotism, for the sake of survival, people might against one's conscience. If a person lived at Hiroshima in 70 centuries, he might hurt by forceful and powerful nucleic bomb, and get serious illness, or invade by virus, such as cancer. People might want to leave Hiroshima as quick as possible, since they don't want to live in a place which full of nucleon. Therefore, Hiroshima's economic might be destitute and fail for a period of time. The two plots were different from many ways, since the setting is unlike. However, setting could truly affect the design of plot.

Writing is Difficult

To most of people, writing is truly a dreadful exercise, a terrible occupation. People might struggle against writing, hesitate for expressing our feelings deeply and sincerely, but not unnecessary words. Since we have to task our mind for thinking the contents again and again, we must try our best to make the articles plentiful but concise. To me, I'm totally not good at writing in English, because I'm lack of vocabularies, but I will still make efforts on it for the purpose of improving. On the other hand, I love writing in Chinese since I could express my feeling fluently, such as writing a diary. Moreover, I appreciate on Chinese poems which conclude only few words, yet it could clearly express the meaning. It makes me pretty interested in it, willing to recite or compose poetry, and would like to create a poetry, too. Although I love writing in Chinese, I am sort of confused for being my career. I think that writing is natural imagination, whenever we have new ideas, we could record down, and then design a story; if it's a pressure for writing exactly perfect essays,  it would be really dreadful and agonizing. However, we could seek our interests, pursue towards our dreams, and then being convinced to our careers.
