According to the story "The Tell-Tale Heart", we could find the clue that prove the narrator is insane at the first paragraph. The foreshadowing are: 1. At the beginning of the story, the narrator insists that he is not crazy. He says that he can hear all the things in Heaven, Earth, and Hell. This is a delusion which is a sign of insanity. This is a sign that readers could find that the narrator is quite daft before we discover the truth. 2. The narrator planned every detail of the murder. He was obsessed with the murder that he couldn’t think of anything else besides killing the poor, old man. 3. The narrator believed that the old man had an “Evil Eye”. This is a fairly common thing that people who are crazy think. They think that an Evil Eye can see everything, and causes people to get hurt or killed. 4. He says that he is not mad, only over-acute (meaning that he can see and hear things that other people cannot) 5. The most obvious reason-- he killed the old man, and even destroyed his corpse and hidden it. He cut the old man’s body to pieces and carefully hid it under the floor in the old man’s bedroom. However, it's extremely unreasonable for killing a person with only his "Evil eye".
